Quite a year. Swings and roundabouts as they say. I’m glad your Mum is improving and that they are both able to spend more time together. So glad that Grace is sending you photos. Here’s hoping that 2024 brings some positive steps. Thanks for sharing your reading too. Tina Turner was an extraordinary woman. All the best dear Stella. 🤗🤗😘
Thank you, Beth! Indeed, I am crossing my fingers that 2024 will be an upswing. We shall see... Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. It must be summer down there. How are you holding up?
We're having a very cool wet summer in my part of the country. Surprisingly pleasant and a great way to ward off bushfires. For this year anyway. So all good down here. Sending warm vibes up your way. :)
Oh that is lovely to hear! I would love some warm vibes right this moment. Snowstorm in the Sierra Nevada is bringing in a cold front in the Bay Area. A hot water bottle tucked under the comforter surely helps.
Welcome back, Stella! What a beautiful letter, so full of heart and all the daily truths of working out life. Sll of the question-mark collages definitely resonate with me in my own life stage right now - but oh, that pendulum piece! It was mesmerizing. I put it in full-screen and just got absorbed in it, just trying to see more each time of each moving piece, each flashing car, each distant silhouette. I could imagine I was resting my chin on the windowsill, absentmindedly watching the whole world flow by. It was so engaging.
Thank you, Sydney! I wasn’t planning on a pendulum collage but decided to create one at the last minute. I’m glad it resonated and I thought it would a good intro art for this week’s post. And yes, the question mark collages definitely went deeper than my usual whimsical pieces. I appreciate your feedback. Happy New New Year!
I loved the art in this piece, Stella. You have such a distinctive style. The pendulum caught my attention immediately--mesmerizing and surprising. I’m so glad your parents are doing better. The photo of them sitting together in the chapel is such a beautiful sight. And eating their meals at the dining table--that’s great progress for them! I’ll be praying that the right job or artist’s residency will find you in 2024. Meanwhile, I hope you’ll keep leaning into your Art practice and treating us to the results.
Ann, Thank you for your prayers. I’ll definitely need so much of it this year. 🙏 As always your words of appreciation are a balm to my soul. Thank you for taking the time to look at my collages and being happy for my parents’ recovery. Wishing you a wonderful year ahead!
Thanks, Jason! It’s good to be back. The pendulum animation came together quickly and I’m pleased at how it turned out. I wasn’t planning on making it but changed my mind at the last minute. A full year ahead and more collages and hopefully, photographs as well. Happy New Year to you!
Every bit of this resonated with me, my dear. It seems you and I are in very similar places at the moment. But, of course we are :) I love your writing so much and I so look forward to what's to come for you this year. Huge hugs, can't wait to see your face (in person) again. xo
Thank you, Sam! Here’s to a creative year for both of us. And yes! I can’t wait to see what comes out. Crossing my fingers we get to see each other in person this year. Thank you for your friendship! 💕

Here is to soft sweet landings in 2024. All my best wishes to you Stella. Looking forward to your writing.
Thank you, Alice! I hope for a softer landing or perhaps an upswing? I shall keep writing and creating art. Best wishes to you as well!

Glad to have you back! I missed your art and words in my inbox. I love the opening animation in this one!
