You took lessons with Mrs. Larracas??!? Me too! (I was no good, don't know how I lasted as long as I did) But especially, she was Mom's beloved teacher. I wonder, did you know she was the daughter of composer Francisco Buencamino?
I didn’t know you took piano lessons too! Thank you for sharing those two photographs of Mrs. Larracas with T Della and T Doreen-- another beautiful connection! Had I stayed with Mrs. Larracas, I would’ve been further along with my piano skills.
So glad to see you surrounded by all this kindness, Stella. Thank you for this window into a life where people take care of each other. I hope the coming week brings you many reasons to smile and feel the generous length of your rope of patience.
Thank you, Ann. Next week, I return to SF once my sister comes back from her trip to Europe. I’m happy to see so much improvement from my parents that it makes me feel better knowing they are going to be okay when I leave. It’s always bittersweet but for now, I’m enjoying their presence as much as I can.
That scalp massage sounds heavenly. I relaxed just reading your description. And that poem is lovely. Patience is truly something we can work on, isn’t it?
Thank you, Susi. Definitely! Patience is always a work in progress, isn’t it? When we think we’ve arrived, something else happens and we get tested again. That’s part of life.
I’m SO glad you took that time for yourself. You have most definitely earned it and it will stand you in good stead for the time ahead. I also love the memories that come with school-age treasures. Stamp albums were so cool back then! Such fun. I love the poetry (how true) and especially the quote. Thanks for another lovely read. It’s very much appreciated. Take care dear Stella. Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes. 🤗🤗😘
Thank you, Beth! I’m so glad you enjoyed this piece. I appreciate you spending a portion of your time with me each week. Sendings hugs your way as well.

Firstly the hairdresser's. I could FEEL it, I swear.
Then the poetry. It's really beautiful and such a subtle lesson, espeically followed by the comment on patience. So memorable.
Thank you, Stella.
Thank you, Prue! If I have time, I would return for one more treatment. 😀 I’m glad you enjoyed Grace’s poetry. I will pass on your note.
Beautifully written! I love Grace’s poem and your comments about caregiver angels. They are indeed.
