I love that you shared your process with us and the different versions of each grid. I like each change that you made. I think it does make each grid stronger.
And, I love the color palette! It turned out beautifully.
I can see that color can be more challenging (at least for some of us), but I also see how putting a grid together can train your eye and really improve your skills in noticing and paying attention to the smallest details. Thanks for sharing this!
I especially love the first grid examples. In the first one, I was immediately drawn to the Golden Gate Bridge. After you've switched this one out, the grid feels much more balanced and harmonic. It is also interesting to see how different all images appear once the right balance has been found. Well done!
And I can only imagine how much time this took. Colour pairings are much more difficult, I find.
Thank you for chiming in, Susanne. I'm 100% with you that color pairings are indeed challenging. It takes longer to get the grid just right but I think the journey is well worth it.
These are great Stella - each of the changes works really well. It's such a good exercise in learning to balance out a panel, made far harder by the use of colour. It just shows how much colour impacts on how an image is perceived.
Thank you, Lin!To be honest, I procrastinated when I knew that I wanted to try this out. But, I dipped in and I'm glad I got my feet wet. Thank you for looking and welcome to Sundays with Stella. I'm glad you are here to be in this creative journey with me.
I loved the first grid practice post and this one is fantastic as well! Thank you, Stella.
I’m so curious what you use to create the grid? As a photographer, I find the gallery settings and photo sharing design options on Substack pretty limited, but I love how you have shared a collection here. The images don’t look too small and are nicely grouped together.
Thank you, Kassie. I appreciate it! I agree. Substack is quite limiting with the way we can present our pictures. I use Canva to create my grids. It's so easy to upload, re-size and align them together. Downloading and sharing is a breeze too.
I love these! I also enjoyed reading your thoughts behind the process. The colors are outstanding! Maybe contrary to popular opinion, I do prefer the bridge. I like to create tension where possible and I think that photo achieves the necessary amount.
I like the golden gate bridge too! I’m thinking perhaps to increase its size to emphasize the tension. Maybe that might work better within the grid instead of keeping them relatively the same size. It’ll be the hero shot. I will try that.
I like it! I also love the bottom center photo for the same reason. Hmmm... if they were at polar opposite corners what would that do? Just a thought but I look forward to seeing more! Very inspiring.
I am so glad I got you working this week. :)

That was a challenging one, Manuela but glad you brought it up and I gave it a go. I appreciate the nudge! Thank you so much.
