Seeing the first collage right after reading the first paragraph of your words brought tears to my eyes. Navigating grief is overwhelming and finding your life after is so hard. There is no right way to grief, but using your creativity and creating from your deepest pain is a good way.
In the midst of your grief, you are bringing so much beauty into this world. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Thank you, Manuela. Grief and art are indeed intertwined. It eases the pain in my heart to create collages and pictures. It has always been the anchor that allows me to move through them.
Your art is wonderful and will be recognized. I stumbled across Februllage and have been delighted to see each day's responses and have tried a few though I am a writer first and a collage dabbler merely as creative fuel and therapy.
Oh, I’m glad to hear that, Laura! It’s my 4th year doing Februllage but only completed the entire month last year. I hope it’s brought you joy, inspiration, and healing.
Thank you, Rebecca for reading and for appreciating my collages. I, too, have been so busy that I haven't had much time to interact here on Substack. No worries at all. I will be back in San Francisco in a few days. I hope to have some sense of routine and normalcy soon.
Love your art pieces! Brings brightness to the world. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Lara. ❤️
I have no idea how you create these digital collages, but they are lovely!
I am so sorry about the missed opportunity of the artist in residency program. I hope there will be other opportunities for you in the future.
I hope so too. I will put my intentions out in the world and continue to create work. That’s all I can do. The rest is up to God and the universe.
Wonderful collages. I’m so glad they’re providing some sort of relief from the pain. Sending so many hugs dear Stella.
Thank you, Beth. Collaging is a balm to my spirit— brings me joy and reminds me of my sister’s life— perhaps creating keeps her alive in my heart.
That lightness of spirit certainly shines through. Much love. 💚
Thank you, Martin. That means a lot.
These are all fantastic, Stella!

How beautifully your art practice brings you back to your life. Art does indeed heal.
Thank you, Mary. Art reminds me there is life after loss. Taking it one day at a time.

Beautiful words and art - a real treat. I haven't been very present on Substack, and am so grateful that this post was waiting for me to read.
Sending sunshine, smiles and strength to you, Stella. ❤️
