That looks like a pretty cool area to photograph and notice how light changes the urban landscape throughout the seasons.

I partiality agre with Leiter's statement, but if like him you live in NY's East Village, of course the world you see evey day will be interesting.

Love the photos Stella!

So true. I think the most interesting photos can be found in your own neighborhood. Just because you are so familiair with everything around you, makes you see the mundane which turns out to be interesting.

Beautiful images Stella - I am in one of 'those' moods at the moment where I feel I need to get away and shoot somewhere new, new inspiration. But there is always plenty around locally - I sometimes try to think what other people would see in my photographs as, to them, my location is a 'new' location ... I totally agree with Leiter ...

Yes! I so agree. And looking for what makes the environment interesting right outside your front door can lead to such an appreciation for where you live. A gratitude practice through your camera.

The ordinary, even gritty, rendered beautiful. Love the photos Stella.

All those layers of line and light and shadow! So clean and gorgeous. Also, I loved the way you saw the climbing vines embroidering those hard cylindrical columns. You're always inspiring me, Stella.

Looking at your pictures over the day's first coffee I couldn't agree more with Alice and Ann. I especially like the second picture.

Thank you, Ingo! And welcome to Sundays with Stella. I’m glad to hear you saw my photographs over your first cup of coffee. I appreciate you sharing that! It means a lot. Morning light is beautiful— the noticing is heightened and inspired.

How wonderful! You've definitely captured the extraordinary in the everyday...I particularly like the intimate drama of those vines peeking through the fence.

I definitely agree that "mysterious things happen in familiar places"! Happens to me all the time around here - discovering something brand new in some little patch of ground that I've been looking at daily for 7+ years 🤣

But also, maybe someday, after you've steeped in appreciation of your here and now, a little bit of that "reminds me of [x place]" might find a place to creep gently back in - because I also think it's amazing how much our own back yards weave gossamer strands of connection to the whole wide world!

As ever, thanks for sharing your views, in words & images! :)
