You are on a creative roll, Stella! Such varied and interesting compositions. I particularly love the figure in the black dress juxtaposed with the florals. I will definitely be exploring your collaborative work, too.
Thank you, Ann! I appreciate it. That was my first attempt and I was floored by how well it turned out. And yes, please do check out A Considerable Age. Thank you again for being so supportive.
Your comment "Sometimes, I feel like I should just stick to a thing or two and sort of have a path that I’ve known for. But then, that would be too stifling, " is spot on. As a commercial photographer I always disliked the idea that you had to be a specialist. I understood the client side reasoning to it but if the client understood how stifling that can be they might not be so rigid. And I think most photographers understood the necessity to "appear" to be a specialist but did a multitude of different things lest utter boredom would result. Love you Stella. Hope you are well.
Good to hear from you, Rob! Thanks for chiming in. I also dislike the emphases on branding these days as it boxes you in. Hi to Ramona and hope you are enjoying summer down there in SB.

I couldn't agree more. I love watching your playful exploration. The flower collage of these women are incredible. The analogue collages are very inspiring to me. I have been itching to work with my hands again and get away from the screens. This was such a joy to read and take in!
Keep exploring, Stella! I am totally with you, that growth, joy and inspiration comes exactly from that. You collages are the best examples that you should keep going. You are inspiration!
Thank you, Nathaniel! And, welcome to Sundays with Stella. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way. I think having a space to share all of our work and building a community helps us to keep going. I just subscribed to your newsletter and look forward to seeing and reading about your collages, book design and everything else.
Thanks! And thanks for subscribing. I hope you find it worthwhile. I wholeheartedly agree—I love having this space to practice writing and explore all the different facets of my work!
Thank you for your support, Rebecca! I truly appreciate it— always. And yes, yay for left handedness. Instinctively I am and that’s my dominant hand. However, I’m more ambidextrous now as I had this fear when I was in high school that if something ever happened to my left hand, I need to learn to write with my right. Crazy, no? So at uni, note taking was the practice I did to learn it. I don’t know how I pulled it off but I did!
Oh wow, that was such a great idea you had in high school - I mean, not that you were potentially dreading something awful happening to your left hand, but learning to use your right hand so you had a back-up. Absolutely awesome!
