I love them. It is so funny that breaking little habits like tearing instead of cutting can open up a whole new world. I always have been a „tearer“ of my collage papers, because collage for me is an intuitive process. I like that the paper will sometimes tear in unexpected ways as if it wants to take an active part in the making.

Thanks, Susanne! I know right? And, my scissors/paper cutter skills are terrible so tearing to me just felt more liberating.

I love your enthusiasm, Stella, and yes! the way you share it is *definitely* contagious. I think the metal straightedge gives the torn collage pieces a wonderful and subtle texture. It's great to see you having so much joy in the process of your art-making.

Thank you, Anne! I’m so happy to hear that. Some teachers used to do that technique back when I was in grade school as well as people in the gift wrapping counters in the department store. I only remembered then after watching the IG reel. And then I said, of course!! Why did I not think of it earlier? I’m glad it clicked.

These are fantastic! As someone obsessed with typography, every one of these excites me in a profoundly nerdy way. Even the one you like the least, I'm enamored with. The density, the overwhelm of so much trying to be communicated, speaks to me. Great work!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Duane! Interesting that even my least favorite you found fascinating. Thank you for sharing that-- means a lot. And, you get the geeking too... so cool!

I totally get it! I bought a couple Life magazines from the 40's and 50's from an antique mall recently. I spent over an hour giddy just staring at the yellowing pages and the aged distress of the paper. My capacity to geek is immense 🤣.
