Last March, I wrote about Visual Notes1 during our month-long stay in Paris. Initially, I had planned to showcase them as an image gallery in this post. However, Substack's limitations prevented me from arranging the photographs in a single row. Instead, I captured screenshots from a Miro board that Tina created. I believed it is crucial to present them in this manner because each photograph builds upon the previous one. We love arranging and looking at pictures this way! It’s a fun and collaborative process. The board is not only a repository for our Paris memories but it also serves as our visual inspiration board. Click on each photo for a larger view.
During the next two weeks, I'll be on the East Coast balancing remote work and connecting with my family. Anticipating some time limitations, I'll share concise musings, pictures, and collages through the chat functionality2 on this platform instead of my usual long-form post. It's an experimental approach, so the outcome remains uncertain. But, we will discover how it unfolds together!
The next full post will be on Sunday, June 25th.
In the meantime, I’d like to recommend an upcoming e-course by Laura Valenti called Light Atlas: The Path to Wholehearted Seeing. In 2019, I enrolled in her year-long Gathering Light course. Three years earlier, I started a project called The Butterfly Diary but only completed it after having clarity about how I wanted to infuse meaning into my photographs. It transformed my creative practice. If you're seeking meaning and inspiration, this could be for you. The Light Atlas class begins on June 12th.
As always, I love hearing from you! What do you think about our Visual Board? How do you collect, reference and/or share your travel photographs? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
