Thanks, Andrew! I actually thought about you after I found out that William Mitchell was from the UK. Are some of those public spaces near you? I'm glad you liked Ezra Stoller. His west coast counterpart is Julius Schulman. You might like this documentary film: https://www.juliusshulmanfilm.com/
His work looks like it’s dotted around the country. One is in the nearby Bristol Cathedral and I have taken photos of them without knowing who it was by. So thank you for helping me learn a little bit more and the link to Julius Schulman.
Wonderful! I always need time to sink into and enjoy your pieces. It’s 4am so I can’t spend too long, but Wow. Art vs Architecture - where does one start and one end? It really doesn’t matter - those pieces are extraordinary. Thanks so much for sharing them with us. And ditto for the collages! Congratulations on completing the month. I adore these ‘Top Five’. Brilliant work. I’ll check out some of your other links later, but my goodness I’ve enjoyed my middle-of-the-night stop with Substack. Hugs my dear. Enjoy your week. 🤗🤗😘
Thank you, Beth! Didn't mean to wake you up so early but great to hear it perked you up at 4am in the morning. Come back and revisit the rest. Let me know what you think!
Thanks, Jason! I truly appreciate hearing that. Remember seemed to have resonated with so many people too. It's wonderful when it touches something touches us deeply. That's all we hope for as an artist, no?
Thank you, Zachary! And Happy Sunday to you. Those two projects, Family Spaces and Cubao are quite special. I'm glad it still resonates even if I've created them over 10 years ago.
“What I learned is this: our tastes do evolve when we maintain an open mind and tune into our curiosity. (I also think maturity factors in, right?)”
Absolutely, dear Stella, our creativity evolves as we grow and learn and, yes, mature. I think it is so lovely that we can start appreciating and loving artistic styles that are different from ours, and then even attempt to create something similar.
That’s the beauty of sharing our creativity with each other! I have to catch up on that interview but I will make sure to find you on Instagram. Favorite collages of the five: Number 2 and 5!!!
But all of them are truly beautiful and engaging. Congrats on accomplishing the challenge!
Thank you so much, Manuela! I appreciate it. My IG handle: @stellakalaw if you'd like to connect over there. 2 and 5 are also my favorites. I'm glad we're in sync.
“our tastes do evolve when we maintain an open mind and tune into our curiosity” I think this is so true. The more we notice, the more we can find ourselves fascinated. My oldest son took an interest in rocks when he was little. Like, finding specific rocks, knowing their names, eventually looking for fossils. I’d never had more than a passing interest in rocks - but once I began to notice them, of course I discovered there was a lot to be fascinated by :)
Your photography of these murals is stunning - you've showcased them beautifully. I often overlook architecture. I notice the natural world much more easily than the built world. I appreciate the balance of including the escalators in the images, rather than trying to frame down to just the murals. Including the industrial elements enriches the visual story - stunning artwork in utilitarian public spaces. It’s something we should probably all get better at appreciating!
Congratulations, 29 days straight, amazing! River really resonates with me. Although, honestly, I really liked Toxic as well - so kind of unexpected and dystopian 🤣 Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you, Sydney! I hear you about the built world. It's only now that I've started to pay attention. How lovely that your son was into specific rocks. I love when children have that kind of curiosity in them. River is one of my favorites and thanks for letting me know that Toxic was too-- sometimes, its great to hear how others react to pieces I'm not too crazy about. Have a good week ahead!
That’s wonderful to hear, Josh! Not many know about him. He also photographed a wide range of residences and styles although he was mainly known for capturing modernist architecture. And Julius Schulman here on the West Coast too. I am discovering his work too.
Thanks for an enlightening read. I don’t know either Ezra Stoller or William Mitchell but I like what I see!

Your posts are the highlight of my Sunday morning inspiration sessions! I found your collage, "Remember" especially moving.
Thanks, Jason! I truly appreciate hearing that. Remember seemed to have resonated with so many people too. It's wonderful when it touches something touches us deeply. That's all we hope for as an artist, no?
A collage a day for 29 days is remarkable to me. And they're so good!
I really love the two projects you posted links to. Beautiful.
Thanks for sharing!

Wow, 29 days of collage. And they are all amazing. Well done!
Thank you, Susanne! I appreciate it. Looking forward to next year. It was so much fun.
I'm a huge Ezra Stoller fan so I'm really happy you found him and exposed folks to his work.

His photos of the TWA terminal are masterpieces. https://www.ezrastoller.com/ezra-stoller-twa
My absolute favorite!
I love your collage work so much 👍👍👍
Thank you so much, Sabine!
