Wonderful! The thought of going through our old ‘baggage’ is terrifying, but results like this are so worth it. Thanks so much for leading us through your training. A fascinating and enjoyable post. Thanks so much dear Stella.

What a great trip down memory lane Stella - I love to look back at the first contact sheets I did at college on a part time course. Your final thesis images are so wonderfully moody!

Thank you, Lin! I'd love to see your 1st contact sheet and see what comes up. It's great to look back and take in the moment of where it all started with our creative journeys.

I feel like the people in these images could suddenly turn their heads and start speaking to me. What gorgeous work, Stella.

It seems so important to hold onto an inner gentleness when we are beginners. 💛💛💛

Thank you so much, Ann. It's important to share our origins, to be humbled by it, to take in the moment of the creative journey so far, and yes-- the inner gentleness that you surfaced which is at the core of this piece. Thank you for reading!

My pleasure, Michelle! You know, I also reached out to Bernal and Brocka but my requests were ignored or didn't get through. Your Dad said yes immediately and I am so grateful for that especially inviting me after graduation to work with him. And, of course, in the process I met you and your family.

Really interesting. I particularly recognize the standing in the dark and winding the spool and praying hard that something decent will come out the other end. You moved quickly and I am really impressed with the "Don" image. Really nice. Great face he is making too! Great post!
