I absolutely love these! I have a ton of old ephemera I liked to use for me collages, but without personal history or attachment. This makes yours very special!
What fun! That really appeals. I spent December making a ‘junk journal’ with Kelli Blouin on YouTube. We started with six envelopes then added in stickers and ephemera and art and journaling, so this feels very pertinent. It’s such a fun and cool way to bring together all of those aspects of your Mum’s life back then.
I do daily art but never publish it anywhere. My sister and I just text our work to each other each night. A great incentive to keep it up. It’s just Fun. 🤗🤗
Thank you! I found myself researching photographs from that era. I particularly like the image I included in this post as I imagined that how Mom's commute looked like-- she walking with heels!
Love these Stella... I'm very drawn to histories of older people, especially moms and dads. Ironically, I was about to pull out some of my parents' ephemera ... you've inspired me! I look forward to what else you find!
Thank you, Juliette. I’m so glad to hear that. I’ve grown up listening to my grandparents, aunts and uncles tell stories and I’ve enjoyed their banterings. All of this will inform the collages plus some research on that timeframe. It’s all exciting and hope to dive in soon.
What a wonderful gift! Finding old bits of papers and photos feels like opening a treasure chest. You will give additional layers of meaning to the stories your mom tells. Have a lovely new year, Stella.

Escolta was beautiful! That analog collage is a fascinating idea! I'm sure the process is therapeutic. 🥰

Yes! Syvels was in Escolta. Gregg shoes naman was along Mabini street.
I really love what you did with the envelope flaps. I have an old collection of letters…this sparks ideas in me Stella! Thank you so much.
Oh, I'm glad to hear that, Ann. Thank you! Can't wait to see your art work that'll spring from this idea.
This is what I love about collage—it can be anything! This 3-D, assemblage-then-photographed approach is awesome. 👏
Thank you, Jen. Can't wait to dive in some more.
Lovely. What a great way to preserve and add to the memories.
