What a master and an innovator! We take for granted the playful ease we have with modern digital technology. But you show how the old way has a warmth and depth that still matters. Thank you for sharing this, Stella.

Thank you, Sydney! Mr. Penn is the epitome of a craftsman. Those were the days without technology where everything was slow and methodical. I tend to geek out on the details but I'm glad you read and appreciated what I shared.

I am a details geek myself :) Honestly, I wish we all could be - having interest and fascination in how all kinds of things are made would honestly be such a benefit to each of us individually and society as a whole. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I feel the same way about nature of course - the more interest, the better for us all!

What an enlightening post. I’m sure it was an incredible experience to see the show, given your connection to Irving Penn. My husband and I saw some of his work here in Paris a few years ago. So much grace and beauty in simple, often minimalist compositions. Thank you for sharing.

Great post, thank you so much. Love Irving Penn. Specially as I was a booker in a model agency many moons ago and the "Photobuisiness" was for 17 years my favorite job. Even lived in Paris in the 1990-93 and worked there. So Irving Penn is a legend that is for sure. And I feel in your writing what a great day you had. Thank you for letting us being a part of it🙏🙏🙏☀️☀️☀️

Oh, what a wonderful job, Sabine! And, in the 1990s too during the time when photographers like Herb Ritts, Albert Watson, Peter Lindberg, etc.were at the top of their game. That is also the same period I was studying photography and was enamored by fashion images. What a wonderful connection to have. Thanks again for your support! I truly appreciate it.
