I don’t know why but I have this sensation that those collages would be perfect to illustrate some political articles from the New Yorker, don’t know why it came to my mind so specifically but wow there’s something different in them 😀

Thanks, Stevelyne! That’s so kind of you to say that. New Yorker- wow. I haven’t thought about it as I do these collages for fun. Much appreciated!

It’s not kind Stella, it’s 100% truth, even if you do them for fun, you have a very special talent, you tell stories with collages and they are very strong, very deep, maybe it’s just a seed in your mind but think about it ( and let me know, so I’ll buy my first New Yorker edition just for your art 😀)

Thank you. Just maybe I'll send a few over to the New Yorker. Who knows right? I appreciate the nudge.

As a traditional artist I have absolutely no idea how you do digital collage, but the results are amazing. Well done. And thanks for the update. Home Sweet Home...

Thank you, Beth! My photography training was analog so I think the aesthetic never left me even if I work in the digital medium.

These are so creative! It's wonderful to let your eye wander and your mind drift through all the thoughts sparked by the various elements. I particularly liked the fern draped across the newsboy - ferns feature prominently in our Maine woods and they look so soft and comfortable, though I've never personally wrapped one around me like a scarf :) Welcome back, and wishing you peace and comfort as you readjust!

Thank you, Sydney! I love playing with incongruent pairings- that’s one part of why collaging is so interesting to me. There’s always room for experimentation.

I love your collages. Hard to believe they are digital...

Thanks, Susanne! I’ve always been drawn to the analog aesthetic because that’s how I was trained as a photographer. I’m im able to translate it even if I work digitally.

I have done collage work myself and I love it because of the sensory experience. I don’t digital collage making would do the same for me, but your results really speak to me. I hope you’ll share more in the future...

Thank you for sharing these; so marvelous!

I second the New Yorker idea, especially the person in the top hat illustration. I always enjoy the bubble ones!

The ferned boy reminds me of The Green Man of forest mythology and folklore as he was growing up; birth and rebirth. Thinking too of the street smarts and savvy of newsboys, and how that craftiness maybe adds an element of The Trickster here.

I wonder what a series of Tarot cards in collage would look like....

I love that idea of cards similar to Tarot except collages. You've given me something to think about. Thank you, Daniel for chiming in to let me know the pieces that resonated with you. I appreciate it.

I always love your collages! They are all great, but I'm especially fond of the second one with the surfboard and the bubbles. Your collages always make me eager to go and make my own!

Thanks, Jason! Likewise, your haikus inspire me to think and write in this form but I have to confess I'm not confident about them. I have to practice, practice, practice!

Welcome to Sundays with Stella, Patrick! Thank you for chiming in. I’m glad you discovered digital collage art. I’ve been creating them consistently since the lockdowns. Something about the practice that’s so freeing and forgiving. I just subscribed to your newsletter. I fervently followed the news about Thomas Fire in Ventura/Santa Barbara and from then on have so much respect and appreciation for firefighters. Looking forward to reading your newsletter.

Thanks very much for the follow. I'm working through humble beginnings on this end, but there is no lack of excitement.
