There was a fascinating exhibit called Intimacy, from the Bedroom to Social Networks that finally prompted Tina and I to visit the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Using everyday objects, paintings, and photographs, the curators guided visitors through the evolution of intimacy from the 18th century to the present day. I highly recommend it if you are visiting Paris between now and March 30, 2025.
For the first time, I was thrilled to finally see in person the work of one of my favorite artist, Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi.
The museum houses the world’s largest collection of historical furniture, ceramics, glassware, jewelry, fashion, and textiles—comprising approximately 500,000 objects. Spanning nine floors, the museum's vastness was overwhelming, so we carefully chose which art movement and periods to explore.

Tucked away in a corner on one of the floors, I noticed the solar shade on the right was slightly askew, casting a gorgeous shadow. There is beauty in its simplicity—the natural light, the obscured view, all framed within the window.
As we ascended each floor, I continued to seek out and capture these quiet havens as a respite to the ornate displays. By the end of our visit, a mini-series had emerged.
As always, let’s meet each other in the comments section below. Let me know if you have a favorite image or two or if anything I wrote resonated with you.
