I've been meaning to write for the past few days, but beach walks, engaging conversations, laughter, and dinner with lifelong friends took precedence this week. Still, I wanted to show up today not much in the way of words but in pictures.
A trip to Southern California wouldn't be complete without beach walks. I packed a pair of shorts expecting temperatures in the 70s but ended up wearing cargo pants and borrowing one of JZ's down jackets instead.
There was so much to take in with the ever-shifting landscape: driftwood, sand, seagulls, crashing waves, and palm trees.
Weathered, beautiful, ephemeral.
As we walked, JZ and I found ourselves drawn to elements we wanted to photograph. We often drifted apart and then regrouped to continue our conversation—only photographers share this mutual understanding.
I find comfort in this ritual.
As always, let’s meet each other in the comments section below. Let me know if any of the photographs resonated with you.
See you all next Sunday!
ANOTHER WAY TO SUPPORT SUNDAYS WITH STELLA
Great news, dear ones! I've listened to your requests and created a support page on my website. Now you can contribute to 'Sundays with Stella' in any amount using your credit card, PayPal, or Venmo. Your generosity is truly appreciated!
Good morning Stella, Thanks for taking us along on your beach walk! Love the picture with the tall sticks standing together in the sand. And thanks for the link to your post on wabi sabi. I'm just starting to lean into that idea as a cure for my perfectionism. Are you familiar with Beth Kempton's book called Wabi Sabi: Japanese Wisdom for a perfectly imperfect life?
Beautiful photos! A lovely start to my Sunday ❤️
