These images don’t belong to any series. I posted them on Instagram years ago, and since then, they’ve remained hidden from view, buried deep in the archives. It’s a shame because these one-off images are some of my favorites. A few I overlooked when I first photographed them, but now they’ve grown on me. So, I thought it might be a good idea to unearth some of these gems and share them with you.
When I made these photographs, I was working full-time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. These quiet, mundane scenes served as a counterbalance to the daily grind.
Often, it's the light that first catches my eye. Sometimes, it's a detail or a fleeting moment. Framing the scene through my viewfinder melted away the stress and shifted my focus to something that brought me joy. The practice of seeing the beauty in the everyday taught me to appreciate the present moment.
As always, let’s meet each other in the comment section below. Let me know if any of these photographs resonated with you. If you are interested in purchasing a print, send me an email at photo@kalaw.com.
