I had no idea that you like street photography, Stella! I love this, especially the video. Very nice! I too love that strong contrast between light and dark.
Thank you, Juliette! Yes, I did do street photography on and off between 2002-2019. I started out with one of those Canon Digital Elph SD1000 just to get my feet wet. When I was confident enough, I moved to a Canon G11 and then a G5X. I like the point and shoot camera because it is small and I'm comfortable with the price point. That way, if someone snatches it while I'm photographing, I won't feel so crushed about losing it. After all, It's never about the gear but how you see and work with the limitations if any. And yes to contrast!!
That's so cool! It sounds like we started around the same timeframe and I took a hiatus around 2019...I have one of those Elphs but I started with an Olympus E-P2 followed by a Ricoh GR. Small cameras are non-negotiable for street. The challenge is when I travel since I don't stick to one kind of photography. Anyway, so good to know you like that genre. :)
I look for patterns and the dots that connect to bring those patterns to life. We often ignore those individual dots or things in our striving to see and know the pattern. I love how you honor those individuals in your very witnessing, in their stillness, in shadow and light-- and, in the witnessing, ensuring that they don't fade.
Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you, Beth!
I love that line…. Because if you don’t nurture things, they fade. Such wise words. Thank you for sharing ! ❤️
